I road to the Super Bike race at Virginia International Raceway in spring 2016.  It was a great race.  You can get close to explore the pits and check out the technology.  I road back on highway 58 and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Scott and I rode to the IndyCar race in Baltimore, Maryland in 2011.  We road most of the Blueridge Parkway and the entire length of Skyline Drive in Virginia before making our way to Baltimore.  We ate some great crab cakes in Baltimore.  The weather was great for the ride up to the race, but coming back tropical storm Lee dumped rain on us for most of the way.  We were soaked to the bone, as we rolled back into Hickory.  Or at least I was...Scott had on his Aerostich suit, but I was to yet invest in any really good waterproof riding gear.
