My first long ride was from Hickory NC to Mid Ohio Sports Car track for the 2009 Vintage Motorcycle Days event. I rode with 2 other guys, Scott and Julius. The route took us through Virginia and West Virginia where we spent a day just riding around Snow Shoe ski resort. There is a lot of great twisty roads in the area including highways 16 and 219. I was on my Sportster, so mostly we stuck to the pavement. We made it to the event on day 3 and had a great time. There were bikes of all types on display, races (including electric bikes), a huge swap meet, and demo rides. BSA was the marque brand for the event. I didn't take many picture along the ride, but here are a few from Mid Ohio.

The technology behind building motorcycle helmets is amazing these days. There are some basic guidelines everyone should follow when considering a motorcycle helmet. States that require motorcyclists to wear helmets also require the helmet is DOT certified. You must choose the correct size. Wearing a helmet that is too big or too small severely limits its ability to protect you and do what it was designed to do.
